Love Carries On
Because love doesn’t end…
and neither does the need for support.
When a child dies, life around you continues moving forward — but for the families who loved them, life is forever changed.
It lives in the empty seat at dinner.
The holidays that no longer feel the same.
The milestones that ache instead of celebrate.
Axel’s Army exists to create space for healing in the days, months, and years after loss — offering connection, remembrance, and gentle support for families learning how to carry unimaginable grief alongside enduring love.
Because healing doesn’t mean forgetting.
It means finding ways to keep love present while learning how to live beside the loss.
For Bereaved Mothers
The loss of a child changes every part of a mother’s world.
Grief can feel deeply isolating — especially as life around you begins moving forward while your own heart still feels shattered.
Through intimate and thoughtfully designed retreats, Axel’s Army hopes to create restorative spaces where bereaved mothers can step away from survival mode and into healing. Spaces where grief can be spoken aloud, memories are welcomed, and mothers feel seen not only in their heartbreak, but in the enduring love they carry for their child.
Inspired by Heather’s experience attending a retreat for bereaved mothers after Axel’s death, Axel’s Army hopes to create similar spaces of connection and understanding — places where mothers can exhale, feel supported, and be reminded that they do not have to walk this path alone.
For Siblings
The loss of a brother or sister is a profound grief that is often carried quietly.
Siblings are forever changed too — navigating confusion, heartbreak, fear, and loss at an age where many still struggle to fully understand what they are feeling.
Their grief is often the invisible heartbreak inside the family.
Axel’s Army supports bereaved siblings through meaningful gestures of remembrance, comfort, connection, and inclusion — helping them feel seen, supported, and remembered in their own grief journey.
Because their love — and their loss — matters too.
Healing and Remembrance
We believe healing doesn't happen by leaving our children behind.
It happens by carrying their love, their stories, and their light forward with us.
Through retreats, connection, and meaningful support, Axel's Army creates space for families to grieve honestly, heal gently, and find community with others who understand the lifelong journey of loss.
Because healing doesn't mean forgetting.
It means learning how to carry both grief and love together.
Love carries on.
Help us create space for families
to heal, remember, and stay connected to the ones they love.
